If it was really serious (and he still does this) and horribly inconvenient (especially if we're at home) I'll just pick him up anyway and put him in bed or hold him. I go the ignore route. I once rounded a corner, leaving sprawled out in the middle of Circuit City. Of course, I stood where I could see him, but he couldn't see me. Once he realized I wasn't there, he quickly stopped the tantrum and came looking for me. My nephew has done this to me a time or two. I go the ignore route.
