Sick and Tired Again

April 5, 2006

Well, Hayes is out sick — again. I’m beginning to think of this daycare thing as a racket. Since H has been in daycare, he’s only managed a 80% attendence. That seems pretty absurd. Take yesterday, for instance. Hayes had a “fever” according to the daycare. An hour later at the doctor’s office he didn’t have a fever. Weird, huh? And it’s not like he’s mr sluggish — nope, he’s smiling, running, playing, and everything else. No sign of being sick.

So, he’s home today. Because he can’t go back the day after he had a “fever.” He’s the strange thing: before daycare he rarely got sick. At daycare, where they have this fever policy, he’s sick 20% of the time. Something tells me this fever policy is more of a do less work policy. It certainly isn’t stopping Hayes from getting sick.

Nanny starts Monday. No more of this shit.

Hi!

Hayes newest word, and his most exciting (for me anyway) yet, is, “hi.” He uses it often. I love it.

Go to get him in his car seat, and not only do you get his huge smile, but now a “hi” when you open the door. Come in to get him in the morning, a “hi” awaits. Come down from bed when it’s my turn to sleep in, and I’m greeted by a beaming smile and “hi.” It’s the best. He uses it on the cat, stangers and anything that moves outside our window. Does life get any better?
