Well, we’re quickly approaching a year and things are happening at a rapid pace… both in HBombs development and his life (read: our life) in general.

No new milestones in this month to speak of, though he definitely is “talking” much more and has added new constanants to his repetoir. He almost sounds like he’s talking in another language. He clearly thinks he’s talking and that we should understand what he’s saying, cuz when we don’t he points at the object with an open palm and whines until we either get it for him, or move it out of his site. I think it’s only a matter of time before the latter tact results in a hissy fit — but it works for now, so, as they say, no reason to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Speaking of gifts (man, that was a sparkling transition if I ever had one. My 9th grade English teacher would be proud — if only she could overlook my spelling), Christmas is right around the corner… 3 days away. And although it’s a safe bet Hayes will be getting tons of toys and clothes, he won’t be getting any from us. We’ve decided that between the two families of ours, H will get more than enough things… and since the concept of Christmas (the gift giving, not the religious) is out of his grasp, he’ll have no idea we didn’t give him anything… or, for that matter, that anyone has gotten him anything. Instead, we’ll suplement after Christmas if’n he needs something new. That being said, I did pick up some “They Might Be Giant” CD’s for him… you know, the kids ones.

Well, that’s about it. We may have a big announcement in the near future. No, it’s not a another kid… keep wishing mom.

Merry Christmas everyone! (and I mean that in the most non-religious way possible.)
