All Work and No Play

June 8, 2005

So it’s coming to an end. Yup, my stint as an 80 hour-a-week worker is about to take it’s final bow. At least for the summer anyway. Our “nanny” starts her 20 hr/week regular schedule on Monday and I couldn’t be happier. Jen has scheduled her in from time-to-time and in conjunction with visit from a loving aunt (she, like most of you out there, flies firmly in the face of New England pronunciation and calls herself an “ant.”) and a few grandparents’ visits have given me… gasp… a day off on weekends.

And it’s doing wonders. Coupled with the full night’s sleep we’ve been getting after Ferberization, I’ve returned to my former sunny disposition. Now I’m only grumpy half the time, which really, is much better for everyone involved. Actually, I’m rarely grumpy, and with the new nanny scedule, I can see those days getting fewer and farther between.
