Zero

May 31, 2005

Zero. That’s how many times Hayes woke up between 8PM and 6AM. None. Zip. I know, it’s crazy. Even more crazy is that it never got that bad. In fact, the first night he went without food and only woke up twice. By Sunday night he only awoke once at 3:45Am and was bacl to sleep in 15 minutes.

Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think it would be so easy to get HBomb to sleep through the night. Better still are the other side effects of his new sleep patterns: he eats more less often and he take longer naps without needing the 10 minutes of rocking that he used to. And you know what, I’m not even afraid of jinxing it. Yes, the Ferber Method works, and once horrible sleeping H is living proff. Thank you Dr Ferber!

Halleluia! Another set of parents can sleep through the night. Isn’t it the greatest yet weirdest feeling to sleep more than 3 hours at a stretch? Congrats on getting your little one to sleep better.

Yay for Hayes! Yay for you! Yay for sleep! I’m so glad I didn’t get the chance to commiserate by telling you our horror stories. Suffice to say not every child is ferberize-able. Or we waited too long to try (though really only a month longer). Or the stars were wrong.

Now you can start yet another business - Baby Sleep Consultant! There’s gotta be a market for that right? I mean, if people will pay thousands of dollars to make sure their kid gets into the right pre-school, then imagine what they’d pay if you could link more sleep with an Ivy League Education!

Congratulations - enjoy your much-deserved rest.

So glad to hear you got a full nights sleep. Hayes has come a long way! As for me, my 13 month old is starting to wake up now and then. After months of sleep I am now starting over again with the groggy 3am waking.

Sleep is wonderful! Sleeping through the night is priceless. Congratulations for toughing it out. Your sleep (and Haye’s) is well deserved.

Congrats! Now, you just need to instill in young HBomb the importance of The Circle of Trust.

    SHHH!!!!!!!

Don’t say anything!!! You’ll ruin the good luck.

Plus infants only do that to mess with our heads.

    Congrats!

It is wonderful when they sleep the night through :D

Oh, I’m so glad for you! Our boy has been sleeping through the night since about seven weeks (don’t scowl at me, we did On Becoming Baby Wise, yet another method that Sear’s fans hate). But about a month ago, he started waking up at 4am (growth spurt, it turns out), but I was reminded of that first month of hellish sleep deprivation. Glad Hayes is doing better!
