My daughter cried the first two nights. Then it was over. We started on a Friday night (so we could sleep in the next day). So it was perfect. By Sunday night, there was no crying. We did have a basic routine we followed though so she knew what was going to happen. Bath. Jammies. Story. Sip of water. In crib. Lights out. Hope it works for you guys!

When I was fretting over Fuller not sleeping through the night, all these people were telling me to let him cry it out. Anyone, from my friends to my hairdresser, swore it only took 3 nights and he would sleep through the night. So I figured, 3 nights, let's give it a try.
It worked. On April 2, 2005 I woke up at 5:45 and said, well, I think he just slept through the night.
Fuller does still have his moments where he wakes up at 4 am, but it takes about 10 minutes and he is back to sleep.

I was anxiously awaiting H-bomb's stats. Eli goes in for the same check-up next Thursday and we're placing bets. I know for sure he won't be as big as Hayes. Although Eli is big enough to have fat cracks in his legs that require powdering from time to time. Lest the moisture start building alternative communities.

Good luck with the sleeping as always. YOu both should get medals for all the sleeplessness you've endured.

Hang in there. I did the Ferber method with my daughter (who is now three) and she is a terrific sleeper now. She was a terrible sleeper when she was HBomb's age. Ferber's method really does work... but I spent a lot of time crying outside my daughters bedroom door waiting for her to fall asleep. Good luck to you. Your whole family is going to be getting sleep soon!

Suggestion: A few days before the next check-up, post a photo of HBomb and let us place our own guesses.

My Son Zach is a bit older than Hayes. He's 4 and a half months old. We have been sleep trainging him for a week. He does cry every night when we put him down 4 nights out of 5 but he hasn't been up in the middle of the night once. Since he's now sleeping in his own room quietly I sometimes worry that he's going to die in his sleep. How morbid is that? I guess the worry is minor compared to having him sleep with us and nursing 4 or 5 times a night.
