We have a cat named Foxy. She is our only one that comes from a pet shop. She hates socks. And stuffed animals. But mostly socks.

She expresses this hatred by picking them up, screaming at the top of her lungs and then bringing them upstairs to the living room.

This requires that she pass Lucas' room.

There have been nights that the only thing that saved her life was the certainty that my wife would kill me if I killed the cat.

Speaking as a dad whose baby *rarely* has crying fits that last longer than a few minutes, I gotta ask... When HBomb wakes up and just won't calm down, are you sitting next to the crib the whole time while consoling?

I found that my kid would sometimes fix her gaze on an object in the bedroom in the dark. If I carried her into the hallway and turned on the overhead light, it jolted her into another mindset. We could then walk back into the bedroom and settle down pretty quick. Maybe I'm just one tremendously lucky dad, but IMHO the answer is to experiment to discover the elusive trick will alleviate the mysterious issue bothering a crying infant.

My cats push the baby's door open too, but they only do it when mom or dad are inside putting the baby to sleep. If the cat meows or coos, the baby gets gleefully excited, the cat gets pushed out, and we start over with calming her for bedtime.

Funny, our cat LOVES socks. We have had lots of baby gifts lately and many people have given us baby socks. We have laid them out in the closet of the babies' room and Nutmeg (our cat) has found them. Now, it's not unusual to find them scattered about the house. She loves playing with them and tossing them into the air and chasing them.

Now, my wife and I LOVE this cat. Nutmeg has been our only "child" for the past 4 years. We are interested in how Nutmeg will handle the babies - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll stay out of trouble.

That was a bad, bad cat.

There used to be 14 cats at my folk's home one time, and my toddler always runs to hug any cat that happens to cross his path. Tight hugs. Soon enough, the cats wised up and stayed away from Jeremy.

Not that I am suggesting things, but look at this link, please http://tonova.typepad.com/ thesud...ze_tangles.html

Good for a chuckle, at least. Happy weekend!
