All Colick, All the Time

March 24, 2005

Well, colick is back full force. It’s the screaming-like-my-head-is-on-fire type of colick. HBomb is hungry? Scream! HBomb just ate? Scream! Stop feeding HBomb ‘cause he needs to be burped? Scream!

His sleeping has gotten worse. His feedings have gotten worse. It’s all back to square one. Those of you out there who did not experience a colicky baby should consider themselves lucky. Very lucky. Jen is in bed, I’m going to go have a beer. Another beer.

My sunken heart goes way out to you. I’m having a shot of tequila right now in your name.

I swear it does get better. I do know how you feel. I cried for weeks and weeks with my colicky child, I felt helpless, but I PROMISE you that it will get better.

I do not have a colicky baby, but I certainly feel like our baby is fussy and cries. Although this is little consolation to you, I will go home tonight completely appreciating how much more our kid -could- cry.

I’m really sorry the reflux meds aren’t helping. I know I posted early on about our crying baby and it will pass. This early bit until about three months is the hardest time, I think, but mine isn’t old enough to date or drive yet, so it could get worse again in the future.
