The Changing Table,Who Knew?

March 21, 2005

It seems the only sure-fire way to get HBomb to stop crying is to put him on… the changing table? Indeed. Can’t quite figure out what exactly it is about the changing table that he likes so much. Is it the Ikea moon? The orange paint job? The blue concave changing mat? I dunno, but it’s something.

It’s funny, though. It’s the only place in the house that HBomb is guaranteed to stop crying. In fact, it is so effective that he actually starts smiling and gooing at us. Even if his diaper is full. Yes, it’s fun times for all on the changing table. Except, of course, if he’s been happy until then… then, well… he hates it.

HBomb isn’t the only one. My 4mo son is the same way. He loves the changing station.

Well think about it…he is the perfect distance from you to see your face, it’s soft and comfy and he can wiggle to his heart’s content. My son was the same way; to this day the best pictures I have of him are with him lying on the chaning table.

LOL… Us too. We’ve actually let Albert take naps on his. We ultimately decided it was the concave nature of the pad that he liked so much. Made him feel more comfortable somehow.

My daughter was the same way! And yes, we have the moon in her room, too. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Yup, Fuller is the same way. He would eat, get fussy and as soon as I put him on the changing table, he would start to smile and be calm. To this day, he loves that table.

Only good things happen on the changing table when you are a baby!!!

Currently, Kaden hates being put on the changing table. Mostly because by the time he is being placed there he is already fussy and doesn’t appreciate not being held any longer.

Good to hear that perhaps when he is a little older the behavior could reverse itself.

Ha - we have the Ikea Moon and a Star too - and Mia (3 mo’s) loves the changing table too. Thanks Ikea!
